🔥 Fuel Assistance applications are currently open for priority households

Energy Assistance Services continues to accept applications from priority households for the upcoming 2026–2027 heating season, with applications opening to all other households on September 1.

The Fuel Assistance Program (FAP) helps eligible households reduce home heating costs and may provide assistance with heating fuel, electric heat, propane, kerosene, natural gas, wood, pellets, or BioBricks. The program may also help with certain heating-related expenses, including reconnect fees, fuel tank testing, and furnace repairs or cleaning for eligible households.

Priority households include:
• Adults age 60 and older
• Individuals with disabilities
• Families with children under age 6
• Households that heat with wood

📅 Not part of a priority household? Applications open to all other households September 1.

If your household participated in the program last heating season, an application has been mailed to the address on file.

All aboard the Ice Cream Express! The Children’s Center’s bus got a sweet makeover this afternoon and rolled up as an ice cream truck. The kids got to place their order for their own frozen treat. Turns out the strawberry shortcake bars were a crowd favorite because they SOLD OUT. Nothing says summer quite like happy kids, sticky fingers, and ice cream smiles.

This incredible team welcomed our young sailors aboard each day and made plenty of memories along the way. But every voyage must end… and soon it will be time for our crew to disembark. Thanks for making it a summer to remember. Fair winds and following seas!

🌟 Celebrating Pyramid Model Champions! 🌟

Program-Wide Benchmark of Quality #27 reminds us that recognizing staff effort matters: “Incentives and strategies for acknowledging staff effort in the implementation of Pyramid Model practices are used.”

We love this example from The Children’s Center in Wolfeboro, NH! 💚

Since 2025, staff members have had the opportunity to nominate a peer who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to Pyramid Model practices in their daily work. The Leadership Team reviews the nominations and selects a monthly Pyramid Model Champion—someone whose actions reflect compassion, respect, inclusion, and relationship-based care.

In 2026, they took it one step further by expanding the nomination process to include family input! 👏

Each Champion receives a certificate, a rotating plaque that doubles as a night light, recognition at staff meetings, and their name added to a lobby display. But perhaps most importantly, the recognition reinforces a shared commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child can develop the social-emotional skills they need to thrive. 🌱

👏 What a wonderful way to notice, celebrate, and reinforce the Pyramid Model practices happening every day!
