Developing the use of the small muscles in the hands, fingers, and wrists through a variety of different developmentally appropriate activities is extra important in an early childhood classroom. These are the muscles that are necessary for mastering essential skills later on - like buttoning clothes, writing, using scissors, and more! Encouraging this muscle strengthening through play-based activities helps our students to learn without even realizing they're learning 💜
