Dear friends, I invite you to join GCS Parent Lab — a workshop for parenting skills. These are free online meetings for parents of toddlers and preschoolers.

Together with our team, we want to create a space where parents can discuss everyday parenting questions and find approaches that work best for their families.

How can you help your child adjust to preschool? What can you do if bedtime takes forever or mealtimes become a struggle?
How can you support Russian or another home language when your child increasingly prefers English?

Upcoming meetings in 2026:

October 14 — Adjusting to Preschool.
November 18 — Sleep, Nutrition, and Daily Routines.
December 16 — Growing Up Multilingual.

Participation is free, and meetings are held online. We will send the exact time and connection details to registered families.

We’re proud to have educators from many different countries on our team. Each of them brings something special to our daycare: not just their teaching skills, but their culture — stories, songs, traditions, and ways of connecting with children. 🌍

In our classrooms, cultural richness isn’t an add-on — it’s woven into everyday moments. A folktale at circle time, a song in another language during transitions, a game that comes from a teacher’s homeland — these are the small, meaningful ways kids start to understand and appreciate differences. 🎶

Research shows that early, positive exposure to diversity helps children develop empathy, perspective-taking, and communication skills — all key to thriving in our interconnected world. For young children, learning to respect differences isn’t abstract: it’s about seeing that their friend’s family celebrates holidays in a different way, or that a teacher’s language sounds new and beautiful. 🤝

By nurturing this openness from the start, we help children build a mindset of curiosity and kindness. This is the best way to raise kids who see differences as something to explore, not fear. ❤️

What does a child learn by feeding themselves? 🥄

Of course, it’s faster and cleaner when parents do the feeding. 😄 But learning to eat independently is an important part of development!

When children pick up food, hold a spoon, and try to bring it to their mouth, they’re practicing coordination, fine motor skills, and independence. Even spills and little messes are part of the learning process. 💛

Sometimes it’s worth letting them do it themselves — even if there’s a little cleanup afterward. 😊

Even licking a carrot is progress! 🥕

Trying a new food doesn’t always start with the first bite. Sometimes a child needs to pick it up, touch it, smell it, lick it… and even put it back. 😊

And that’s okay! Every little interaction helps children become more familiar and comfortable with new foods. 💚
