Congratulations to Mr. Sean Preece, who successfully tested for his 1st degree black belt (Sho Dan) on August 1st, 2026. Mr. Preece has been with us for a number of years, and we are very proud of his accomplishments. During his testing, he sparred at least 30 bouts and ran most of his kata's. His family was there to support him.

🚨 Class Cancellation for Tonight 🚨

Due to the smoke from the Canadian wildfires affecting air quality across Michigan, all classes are canceled tonight.

The current air quality can be harmful to your lungs, and exercising while breathing in smoky air is simply not worth the risk. Your health and safety are our top priority.

Stay indoors if possible, take care of yourselves, and we’ll see everyone back on the mats soon.

On Saturday, June 6th, 2026, we had the pleasure of testing four of our younger karate students. From left to right, Mr. Preece Jr (Blue Belt), Mr. Kaplan Jr., Mr. Azizov, and Ms. Kuzmuk (yellow belts). All students were well prepared and did a good job. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Mr. Rouech and Ms. Eichelberg, who tested for Yon Kyu (6th level). Both did well, and as you can see from the picture, they were pretty well drained (but happy) by the end of the testing.

Congratulations to Ms. Gundoji, who recently tested for Iy-Kyu (3rd stripe brown) and she did a great job. She was on fire sparring. Next promotion will be to black belt.
