Today finished the final day of our fourth year of Appalachian Heritage Day Camp!! Thank you to Jake Hash for coming and bringing his grist mill to share with the kids!! Also a big thank you to Kristen Gibson and Brandi Pettey FCS agents for helping the kids make salsa today!
We had a great audience to join us this afternoon while the kids shared some of the music they have learned this week on guitar and dulcimer.

A huge thank you to Tyler Hughes and Madison Denhardt for sharing their love of music and the Appalachian culture with our campers this week!! You all are the best!!
Once again thank you to the Country Cabin for hosting us another year and for all their amazing volunteers for ensuring we were fed good all week!!

Can’t wait for our big 5th anniversary camp next year!!

Day 4 of Appalachian Heritage Day camp was full of music, flower pounding, storytelling and clogging. Thank you to Sandy Shortridge Weekly and Velisa Stallard for joint sharing your talents with us!! 💚🍀

Day 3 of Appalachian Heritage Day Camp we spent the morning hiking and learning about the history of the area at the new Clinch River State Park in Saint Paul, VA.
The afternoon was full of music lessons and games!!

We had an amazing first two days of Appalachian Heritage Day Camp!!
Campers spent the morning beginning to learn to play the guitar and dulcimer. The afternoons were full of storytelling, music, air dry clay, butter making, and making sour dough bagels and starter to take home.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers who shared with us the last few days!!
