As September creeps up, it’s time to start planning our community Thanksgiving for 2026.
Cost this year are a bit higher, and we appreciate all the generosity that we get for putting this thing on. Our goal this year is to feed about 200 people!!
Last year we reached our goal of 150 people in-house for the actual meal, and we were able to provide boxed meals for all our area law-enforcement, fire, and EMTs that were on duty.. in our third year, I hope to continue that tradition.
This event was inspired by our want to get back to our community, as many were affected by food shortages three years ago when we started this. Times are still hard, and everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy a meal, especially on Thanksgiving.
As I’ve said every single year, this is open to anybody and everybody in our community. It’s about breaking grid with your neighbors, Fidelity through charity, and sharing, brotherly love. In a divided world, this is a great way to just come together and enjoy everybody’s company.
If you’re interested in donating to the community Thanksgiving, stop in to the Wisconsin Rapids Elks Lodge, And ask to talk to Thomas Derrie. If you don’t wanna make a monetary contribution, but do wish to be part of the event, we are also looking for volunteers to help serve, clear, and deliver food to tables.
