This fall bite just keeps getting better! These shorter days and the changing bait fish locations have these fish piled into some areas! There is definitely a transition happening and it's only going to get better!

Our bite started a little slower than the last two days but after a couple hours we figured out exactly what they wanted and how to present it and it was game on. Another day with around 50 walleyes. We had 8 legals total and one slot. We also ran into a pile of white bass and had some fun before chasing walleyes again. Most of the white bass and all of the big bluegills caught were released today.

We spent the entire day casting and with St. Croix Rods and Piscifun reels in hand! It's a fun bite that is personal between you and the fish! And maybe a few trees! 😆

Yes, I have been telling all of my groups about the PFAS warning issued. Some have made the decision to release and others have decided that the one or two meals a year of fish that they eat from the Wisconsin River is worth the risk to enjoy a fish fry. At the end of the day, it's their license and decision.

Two half day trips today.

First trip was just me and a friend from my Army days, out fishing together. We bounced around to some random stuff today just letting the fish and wind write the script. I caught a 26.5" slot and Ray and I each caught a couple legals. White bass were released.

This afternoon I took out the guys that built and maintain my website. We worked off the info I gathered this morning and put a pile of fish in the boat again. The guys kept four legals and decided to keep some white bass towards the end.

Eight legals, one slot, a TON of shorts, and a lot of white bass. It was 50/50 between plastic and live bait.

The biggest factor the last few days has been playing the wind and not just fishing spots because they're easy or they were there the other day. Sure, it was a little bumpy at times in the wind but we were never in unsafe conditions. The waves were rarely more than 1.5 feet. Just go slower and be smart!

Dan and Dave joined me for a day on the water and the conditions were perfect for my favorite program for fall walleyes. Aggressive snap jigging with plastics! We put a boat load of shorts in the boat and the guys each took home a limit of quality eaters from 16.5 to 19 7/8 inches. We also put three nice slots in the boat and lost two others. Fall fishing is upon us!

Another stellar day with Andy and Gavin. A few less keepers than yesterday BUT, we did hook-up with SEVEN slots today! We still caught close to 50 walleyes! We checked some of the spots we fished yesterday but with the wind switch everything had moved so we went hunting! Our two best spots were areas that only produce for me in the fall and with an easterly wind direction, so, today was the perfect scenario to check them out! This morning it was mainly live bait but this afternoon it was all heavier jigs and big plastics fished very aggressively.
