Rapids had a historical performance this week as they battled their way to to the top of the dome ending with an impressive 8-0 record at the Malecek Duals. For those who don't know: The Malecek Duals were started in 2009. It's an elite summer camp with a steep entry fee. 56 teams who are serious about wrestling make their way to the Dells for this 4 day events. Rapids has been attending the duals for the better part of it's existence. Though Rapids has had two finishes in the top 4 they have never made their way into the finals. This week these young men not only made the finals but walked out champions. They entered their final dual sore, battered, and beaten, up against the "Illinois Top Dawgs" a team of studs from Illinois going against your home town Red Raiders! Needless to say, the stakes were high, emotions were tense, and the excitement from this team made the walls shake!

Shown below "Top-Center" in his black singlet is an upcoming Sophomore by the name of Jaxson Gutierrez. 200 days ago Jaxson woke up a teenager not intending on ever being a wrestler. Get your kids out for wrestling! Room is open Tuesday/Thursday 5:30pm-6:45pm.
