🎉 Great news for Winthrop families! The Kennebec Valley YMCA will be offering the Winthrop Kids Club After School Program at Winthrop Grade School for students in grades K–5. With arts and crafts, outdoor play, homework help, gym time, and more, it's a safe and engaging place for students after the school day ends. Enrollment is now open for the 2026–2027 school year! 🍎🏃‍♀️🎨📚

🍎 Free Summer Meals for Kids & Teens! ☀️

Winthrop Public Schools is proud to offer FREE breakfast and lunch for all children ages 1–18 through our Summer Food Program! No registration is required.

📅 June 22 – August 13, 2026
🕒 Monday–Thursday

📍 Winthrop Grade School
🥣 Breakfast: 8:00–9:00 AM
🍽️ Lunch: 11:15 AM–12:00 PM

📍 Norcross Point
🍽️ Meal Service: 11:00 AM–12:00 PM

Families can enjoy a variety of meal options throughout the summer, including chicken nuggets, pizza, chicken patty sandwiches, salads, sandwiches, fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, and more. Meals may be eaten off-site, and meal pickup is available for families who are unable to bring children to the site. A signature will be required when children are not present.

📦 Weekend meal packages (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday meals) will be available for pickup during Thursday lunch service.

Help us spread the word so every child in our community has access to healthy meals all summer long! 🌞

A new story has arrived on the Winthrop Grade School Book Walk! 📚🌞

Thanks to Mrs. Fitzgerald’s partnership with Bailey Library, students and families can enjoy Nic and Nellie by Astrid Sheckels during the final week of school. This beautifully illustrated story follows a young girl spending the summer with her grandparents on an island, capturing the wonder and adventure of the season.
