At this months meeting someone brought up the new school zone lights and then not working yet. We reached out to the superintendents office for more information. This was the response from Joel Stoneton, WPS facilities manager:
“Here is the most up to date information on the lights.
DOT has determined that the signs on Main St are no longer enforceable, or legal according to State guidelines. So we installed new ones on Highland Ave. We are waiting to get the new lights programed they should be up and running within the next couple weeks.
Spoke with the installer and he is connecting with office Delaney to ensure proper programming
Should be resolved very soon”

Unfortunately, we are going to have to forgo the contest this year due to lack of participation. However, if you’d like to donate to the Winthrop Food Pantry, they can always use the following items:
-Canned Fruit (peaches, pears, fruit cocktail)
-Peanut Butter
-Canned Beans
-Canned Soup
