Classroom in Bloom Classroom in Bloom's mission is to inspire children to grow healthy food and connect with nature!

By being involved with the garden, young people experience the satisfaction of working with the soil. Through an evolving curriculum, Classroom in Bloom is enriching teachers' existing curriculum by providing students with hands-on, real-world experiences that give them new perspectives on their classroom lessons. In turn, students experience the joys and frustrations of the whole cycle of caring

for the land and producing food - from soil building to planting to reaping the sweet harvest of their efforts, and finally returning the organic waste back to the soil.

Erica appreciation post! 💐 If you have been lucky enough to work alongside Erica in the garden this summer, you know just how special she is! Erica wrapped up her WWU’s Sustainability Pathways internship this morning via a presentation on her time at Classroom in Bloom. Finishing this internship also means Erica is officially a graduate of WWU! Congrats, grad! Classroom in Bloom is so lucky that Erica is sticking around! You may see her in the garden, milling around the Mazama store, or out climbing! Erica has been a gift to host this summer, and we can't wait to see more of her throughout the year!

We're getting excited for this Sunday's DIRTWORKS! Anaka Mines will be teaching about seed saving! Come crack open perfectly ripe cantaloupe, taste test, and process seeds! DELICIOUS! Come learn on Sunday, and walk away with a belly (and car) full of cantaloupe!! 🍈🍈🍈🍈🌱🌱🌱🌱

Highlight reel from summer camp 2026! Although its been smoky and hot recently, we've still had some fun in the garden! From "Flying Feathered Friends" to "Life In The Soil", we've had a lot of good times this summer! We are especially thankful for: Golden currants, Erica our WWU’s Sustainability Pathways intern, "Kid town", garden mandalas and mud!!!
Thank you to all of the amazing summer camp kids who make our days more magical, and to all of our supporters big and small.
