Wondering what our toddlers do all day long?

Learning is a process! Our Developmental Continuum is a map to child growth... it is research-based and clearly explains learning benchmarks for children from birth through age eight. Our teachers use this chart to understand where the children are developmentally in their learning journeys of these 35 skills. Through the daily activities, our toddlers construct knowledge as they play and explore. Every activity and project integrates 2-3 skills from the domains of learning (Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Language and Literacy Development, Mathematics and Reasoning, Social Studies, Science and Creative Development). The skill numbering system is applied throughout the entire play-based curriculum!

Here's a sample of today's toddler curriculum as well as our Developmental Continuum of Skills! Activities and projects change daily and are all based on our monthly theme - September is Family and Pets!

You want the best for your baby, and so do we. Child development is a dynamic and gradual process, and each child develops in their own unique way. Our specially curated Early Learning Continuum of Skills outlines a series of observable skill benchmarks for little ones ages 3-18 months. Each open-ended curriculum activity for our infants is written to trigger 1-2 of these skills (noted on the top of each activity guide).

Take a look at today's infant curriculum! Through open-ended back and forth play with their teachers, all of our babies explored interactions with pictures and books, developing persistence and attention, developing an understanding of object permanence, fostering their expressive language skills by mimicking sounds, rhythms and gestures, and working on those fine motor skills by using their little hands to accomplish simple tasks and developing their strength, balance and coordination.

And all in a day's play... phew! Being a baby must be exhausting! :)

We will be delaying our opening tomorrow, February 25th, by 2.5 hours to 10am.

We will also be reserving our parking lot for staff use only due to the parking ban, so please plan accordingly taking lack of on site parking into account for drop off and pick up tomorrow!

As a reminder, our snow and weather related closings coincide with those of the Winthrop Public School system. We will be closed tomorrow, Monday 1/31/22. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday! Stay safe and warm.

We are hiring a full time assistant teacher to work under the supervision of 2 teachers in our toddler 1 classroom. Experience caring for young children in a childcare setting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person! Must be self motivated, patient, creative and LOVE working with kids!
