My name is Tori Greene. I am a junior in high school and am dual enrolled at Pitt CC as part of the Career and College Promise program. This is my first semester in Phi Theta Kappa and I’m honored to be a member. After graduation, I plan to continue my education at East Carolina University to pursue a major in Pre-Med to become a pediatrician.

Hello, I’m Somer Scott and I am the president of Phi Beta Kappa (Honor Society at Pitt Community College) and we are doing a clothing/food “drive” for the Washington Women Shelter, The Soup Kitchen and Men’s Shelter. If you like to donate you can either leave it on your front porch and I can come get it (please text/call me if you choose to do this option with your address included (252) 702-1394) or you can leave it on mine due to Covid I would prefer to limit our interaction as much as possible. I add a list of need items below!

Women Homeless shelters
-toilet paper
-Women cloths ( medium and up but xl/xxl is need now)
-laundry detergent pods
-paper towels
- New/Unused sock and undergarments
- Menstruation products
- Jackets/Coats
- Blanket
- toiletries
-Shoe

Men Homeless Shelter
-Coats/jacket
-Blankets
-New/Unused socks and underwear
-Work Shoes (but any shoe!)
-Toiletries

Soup kitchen
-canned goods (they did specifically say vegetables)
-meats
-bread

This would be a great time to do a clean out of closet/pantries thank you so much for donating and everything will be greatly appreciated!

I am a busy full-time student at Pitt Community College. I am enjoying my studies here. Everyone I have met has been very supportive and helpful, they want to see the students succeed. I was a veterinary technician for 26 years working mostly with emergencies and in the critical care unit in New Jersey. Taking the medical knowledge, I have learned over the years. I am transferring to Medical Office Administration in Medical Billing and Coding. Studying in a scheduled time frame and applying myself, I have succeeded in getting excellent grades. Due to that, I have had the honor to be part of two societies, the National Society of Leadership and Success and Phi Theta Kappa. During the first week of returning to school after 30 years, I decided to make it a goal to be a Phi Theta Kappa member. Today I am not just a member but am also the treasurer.
