Hey there Winterset Choir families!
Our Middle School, Junior High and High School choirs have been invited to sing with the Madison County Community Choir in a Community Patriotic Concert & Sing-Together this summer!
The concert will take place on Sunday, June 28, at 7:00pm on the north lawn of the Madison County Historical Complex, behind the main building. The theme of the concert is America 250.
The full program will last approximately 45–50 minutes and will include:
4 selections by the Madison County Community Choir
2 selections by the Children’s/Youth Choir
1 combined piece
A patriotic sing-together featuring the audience and community singers
The goal of this concert is to have at least 250 singers raising their voices together in celebration of America’s 250th birthday!
Our students have started, or will be learning the music in class these final few days of school.
Parents, grandparents, older siblings, neighbors, and friends, are invited to join the Madison County Community Choir! Rehearsals will be held at First United Methodist Church (309 E. Jefferson) on the following Sundays:
May 31 | 7:00–8:30 PM
June 7 | 7:00–8:30 PM
June 14 | 7:00–8:30 PM
June 21 | 7:00–8:30 PM
If you plan to participate, please email [email protected] before the first rehearsal so enough music can be prepared. There is a suggested contribution of $20 to help cover the cost of music, accompanist honorarium, and promotional materials.
We're really excited to have our choirs be part of this community-wide singing event—perhaps the largest gathering of singers Madison County has ever seen! We would love to fill the lawn with singers, so please consider joining us and inviting anyone else who enjoys singing.
