We will have ACTUAL carolers in one of our windows on Friday night! As you’re walking from The Warehouse on 2nd and the Winterset Community Education Foundation’s yummy fundraiser meal (build-your-own mac and cheese bar!) to the Festival of Lights parade, stop and listen for a few minutes! 🎶

It's our favorite time of the year! This Friday, it's time to bundle up in your warmest gear, grab your family and friends, and head to the Winterset historic courthouse square for our annual Winterset Festival of Lights! Starting at 5:00 pm, you can visit with Santa inside the Madison County Courthouse, stroll around the town square to observe live and lighted window displays, warm up by purchasing food and beverages from local nonprofit groups, enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride through our friends at Wildwood Hills Ranch, shop extended hours, and cheer for over 20 holiday floats as they circle the square starting at 7:15 pm. Want to keep the good times going? Head to the Iowa Theater by 8:00 pm for their annual free showing of Elf (with your nonperishable food donation). , , ,

Season FOUR of the Madison County Community Choir kicks off soon, and we’d love for you to join us! Whether you’re a shower singer, a seasoned chorister, or somewhere in between—all experience levels are welcome.

This year’s concert theme is Christmas at the Movies🎄🎬, complete with the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah and live instrumentalists!

💡 New this year: Youth Christmas Choir!
Open to ages 7+, rehearsing the same Sundays from 5:30–6:15pm. A fun, short-term way for kids to sing and shine during the season.

💲 Participants are asked to contribute to help cover music and accompanist costs: $30 adults | $15 youth (but no one is turned away).

Hey Music-Lovers! Check this Out!

The Indianapolis Quartet performs on the Iowa Theater stage, Friday night, June 6 at 7 PM. In a truly one-of-a-kind experience, this interactive concert will allow the audience to help shape the journey of the performance. This will be a rare opportunity to hear classical music at it's finest at no cost. This performance is provided free by the Zenith Musical festival as part of its ongoing mission to bring chamber music into unique locations across the greater Des Moines area. Supported in part through the National Endowment of the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council which exists within the Iowa Economic Development Authority. No tickets are necessary ahead of performance.
