WISD appreciates the reports that have given us additional information. Law enforcement has conducted an investigation of the information received and continues to work closely with district officials to monitor the situation. At this time, there is no indication of an immediate danger to our students or staff.
However, out of an abundance of caution, we have implemented additional security measures for class and extracurricular events on Friday, August 14, 2026, and will continue to coordinate with our law enforcement partners.
We encourage families to speak with their children about the importance of reporting any concerning information, rumors, social media posts, or suspicious activity to a trusted adult, school official, or law enforcement agency. Threats, whether credible or intended as a joke, are taken seriously and will be fully investigated.
We recognize that uncertainty can create fear, and we are committed to providing timely and accurate information as it becomes available. We ask our community to rely on official communications from the school district and law enforcement rather than unverified information circulating on social media.
The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and families remain at the center of every decision we make. We appreciate the cooperation of our community and the ongoing partnership of our local law enforcement agencies as we work together to maintain a safe learning environment.
