π Wildcat Back-to-School Shopping Reminder! ππΎ
As many of our Wildcat families are preparing for the new school year and shopping for school clothes, we'd like to share a friendly reminder to review our Student Dress Code before making purchases.
The San Pasqual Valley Unified School District believes every student has the right to a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. Our dress code is designed to support that goal while helping students come to school dressed for success.
The following are some of the most common dress code reminders to keep in mind while back-to-school shopping. Please refer to the Student/Parent Handbook for the complete dress code.
π Tops
β’ Must fully cover the midriff (stomach), chest/cleavage, back, and undergarments.
β’ Straps must be at least 2 inches wide.
β’ No fishnet tops, muscle shirts, oversized tank tops, or see-through clothing unless worn over an appropriate shirt, camisole, or slip.
π©³ Shorts, Skirts & Dresses
β’ Must reach students' fingertips when standing with their arms at their sides.
β’ May not have rips or tears above fingertip length.
π Pants & Shorts
β’ Must fit appropriately and not be excessively long, short, baggy, or tight.
β’ May be no more than 4 inches larger than the student's waist (2 inches when doubled).
β’ Must be worn at the waist. The beltline may not fall below the hip bone.
β’ Undergarments must not be visible at any time.
π Shoes
β’ Shoes must be worn at all times.
β’ No slippers or socks only.
β’ No Crocs during Physical Education (P.E.).
π« Clothing, Backpacks & Accessories
All clothing and other items must be free of lettering, printing, or graphics that:
β’ Display crude, vulgar, profane, or sexually suggestive language or images.
β’ Promote or advertise drugs, to***co, or alcoholic beverages, including brand names.
β’ Represent or support gangs, the occult, or groups that advocate substance use, violence, or disruptive behavior.
β’ Degrade others based on gender, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or other related factors.
π Please refer to the Student/Parent Handbook for the complete dress code. If you need a copy of the handbook, please contact the school office and we will be happy to provide one.
If you have any questions about whether a particular clothing item meets the dress code, please don't hesitate to contact the school office. We're happy to help!
Thank you for partnering with us to help all Wildcats start the school year ready to learn. We look forward to welcoming everyone back soon! ππΎ
