The Florida Medicaid Waiver application is FINALLY online. I haven't gone through it yet, but it seems pretty straightforward.

If you have NOT applied, and you have a child with one of these disabilities (the ones that are required)

- Intellectual disabilities (Full Scale IQ of 70 or below)
- Severe forms of autism
- Spina bifida cystica or myelomeningocele
- Cerebral palsy
- Prader-Willi syndrome
- Down syndrome
- Phelan-McDermid syndrome or

YES, THERE IS A LONG WAITLIST. That didn't change - but still don't delay. The longer you wait to do the application, the longer it'll be for services to start.

Medicaid Waiver is NOT the same as Medicaid (as in health insurance). It covers services like:

- Home and community-based services: These include social, behavioral, medical, and therapeutic services.
- Consumable medical supplies: These include items like diapers, gloves, feeding tubes, food supplements, and hearing aids.
- Durable medical equipment and supplies: These are included in the covered services.
- Environmental accessibility adaptations: These are included in the covered services.
- Personal emergency response systems: These are included in the covered services.
- Supported employment services: These are offered by the APD.
- Supported living services: These are offered by the APD.

Meet Dr. Melissa Yount and BCBA Caleb Yount, owners of Yount Psychological Services, PLLC located in Central Florida.

Dr. Melissa Yount is a licensed psychologist in Florida and Utah. As a clinical and forensic psychologist, she has conducted hundreds of evaluations and counseled countless adults as well as children in community mental health settings, college counseling centers, and inpatient settings. She also works with professional athletes. Dr. Yount has been in private practice since 2014 and has over 15 years of clinical experience.

Caleb Yount is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over 14 years of experience working with children with and without special needs. His area of expertise is in the early, intensive intervention of children with Autism. At Yount Psychological Services, he offers early intervention ABA services for children ages 1 to 8.
