CIL Community: Check out this opportunity from our friends at the Seminole County Fire Department! Let's see our Cheetah grandparents lead the way!

In honor of Grandparents Day in September, the Seminole County Fire Department (SCFD) encourages everyone to , and what better way to do that than helping grandparents feel prepared to keep their grandchildren safe? SCFD will host a free Grandparent Safety Class on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seminole County Public Safety Building, located at 150 Eslinger Way in Sanford.

The class will provide grandparents with hands-on, practical skills to help keep their grandchildren safe, including:

Child and infant CPR
Choking emergencies
Safe sleep practices
Injury prevention
Basic first aid

Those interested in attending the free class must register by September 10. Class space is limited. To register or for questions, contact Public Safety Specialist Sharon Gregory at [email protected] or 407-665-5128.

Our 4th grade Cheetahs were Spotted 🐆🐾 hands-on learning with therapy dogs from Hearts of Gold this Friday morning!

Our Cheetahs were able to gather some background knowledge for their first essay, which will be about therapy dogs. The Cheetahs had the opportunity to interact with the dogs and their handlers to ask questions about the purpose of therapy dogs and the ways they help people.

Huge shoutout to our 4th grade teachers for planning this wonderful hands-on experience for our Cheetahs. These are the moments our Cheetahs will remember forever.

And a huge thank you to Hearts of Gold Therapy Dogs Team - the handlers and the therapy dogs - for coming out and spending your morning teaching and learning with our Cheetahs!

What a great way to start the first Friday of the school year! Cheetahs Lead The Way 🐆

CIL Community: We are thrilled to share that the CIL Board of Directors just approved DACG Inc. to serve as the contractor who will build the CIL Middle School. DACG is a well known builder in Central Florida, having built several schools across Seminole County, Lake County, and beyond. DACG will be working with CPH who will complete the Design Phase of CILMS. Our vision is coming closer to reality!
