PT Calling All Young Adults – Ages 21(ish) to 39(ish) Zoom Meeting, September 14, 2026: The fastest growth in our congregation over the past few years has been in the Millennial Generation and the older half of Gen Z and it's time we had a gathering to see what the Holy Spirit is stirring in you. You have found your way to St. John as singles, couples, and families, and we see your faces every Sunday in worship as well as in leadership and service to others. I would like to ask you the same question I asked our call committee 11 years ago when I was considering the call to become your pastor: “Where do you see Jesus at St. John?” The answer then made my call and our future in a time of crisis clear. Now, we need to ask the question again in this time of growth and hope, looking at the coming years: “Where do you see Jesus at St. John?”

Sunday School Starting September 20 at 9:00AM: Due to a temporary lack of preschool teachers, we are delaying the start of our Sunday School kickoff until September 20. On the 20th, there will be an open house upstairs with a hot breakfast, games, crafts, and other activities to get people ready. Signup for breakfast and activities on your blessing card or click

The prophet Jeremiah speaks of the incurable wound of his suffering yet finds in God’s words the delight of his heart. When Peter doesn’t grasp Jesus’ words about suffering, Jesus tells the disciples they will find their lives in losing them. Such sacrificial love is described by Paul when he urges us to associate with the lowly and not repay evil with evil. In worship we gather as a community that we might offer ourselves for the sake of our suffering world.

In Isaiah the people are advised to look to their spiritual ancestors as the rock from which they were hewn. Jesus declares that the church will be built on the rock of Peter’s bold confession of faith. God’s word of reconciliation and God’s mercy are keys to the church’s mission. Paul urges us to not be conformed to this world but to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, using our individual gifts to build up the body of Christ. From the table we go forth to offer our spiritual worship through word and deed.

FANTASY FOOTBALL IS RETURNING WITH THE DEADLINE TO SIGNUP THIS WEDNESDAY, 08/12.

The St. John commissioners, Jacob Lyberg and Randy Parsons, are preparing a great season with 20 open slots over two leagues. The cost of entry is $25pp with the winner of each league picking the ministry receiving the donations. The draft is on Sunday, 08/16 at 12:30pm.
