11:30 a.m. - Networking
12:00 p.m. - Program

Passion and purpose often come with relentless pressure including ambitious fundraising goals, donor stewardship, emotional labor, limited resources, event demands, and the expectation to always be “on.”

This interactive session is designed specifically for development and fundraising professionals who want to sustain both their impact and wellbeing. Participants will explore common burnout risks facing advancement teams, including chronic urgency, boundary erosion, compassion fatigue, and the emotional demands of relationship-based work.

Through a guided Burnout Awareness Assessment and Energy Mapping Inventory, attendees will identify personal and team burnout indicators, recognize patterns of energy depletion and renewal, and better understand how workplace culture and communication impact resilience and performance.

The session also introduces practical tools and strategies to support sustainable work habits, regulate individual and team energy, and strengthen overall wellbeing without sacrificing mission impact.

Join us Tuesday, August 25th, 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the Grain and Berry in College Park for AFP Book Club!

We will be reading The Manager Method by Ashley Herd

Most managers are promoted because they excel at their jobs—but the moment they step into a new leadership role, they’re expected to know how to motivate teams, navigate tough conversations, and drive results with little to no guidance. Manager Method fills this gap, and provides managers at any level with practical, real-world strategies to help them lead with clarity, confidence, and impact—without burning out.

We'll be connecting the dots from this book, and how this can play out in the nonprofit sector.

AFP Central Florida Chapter is proud to share an opportunity for our community. The 3rd Annual Nonprofit Impact Summit is bringing funders, executive leaders, and practitioners together for two days in Orlando, Fl and founder Tina Nugent asked to share a personal note with our members:

---

AFP members,

We spend our careers trying to understand what funders want, usually from the other side of an application portal.

On August 6th & 7th, the people behind those decisions will be in the room with us: AdventHealth (whose CEO is speaking), Orlando Magic Foundation, Deluca Foundation (invite only funder) and others. They're not attending to take pitches they're coming to teach, answer your questions in moderated panels and roundtables, and build real relationships with this region's leaders. That's a level of candor you can't get through a grant portal.

You'll also get working sessions on succession planning, strategic planning, and workplace culture including a workshop led by Disney!

I'd love to welcome you personally.
