On Friday Night, we celebrated our 4th annual closing ceremony for Apex Home School Group!
On behalf of the Apex leadership team, we are humbled to say that this has truly been our best year yet! God has blessed this community with families who truly care for one another and who have a vision for something bigger than “smart kids”. We strive to build up Truth seekers, Freedom fighters, and Kingdom builders.
The best is yet to come!

Last night, our 8th grade students participated in a “dress rehearsal” for their Mock Trial, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. This opportunity allowed them to present in front of an audience, receive meaningful and constructive feedback, and be encouraged by the support of our entire community.

It is difficult to fully express how proud I am of this group. These 12–14 year olds began the year in August with little to no knowledge of Mock Trial, and what they accomplished last night was nothing short of remarkable. Three retired judges and several attorneys shared that the students performed better than many first-time prosecutors—a truly outstanding compliment!

Beyond the performance itself, what stood out most was their growth. These students are learning to think critically, communicate clearly, and present themselves with confidence and professionalism. Watching them make eye contact, articulate arguments, and engage thoughtfully in the process was a powerful reminder of what they are capable of.

Every single one of them is a winner in my book.

Congratulations to Aubrey White on winning Grand Champion AOB Heifer and then 4th Overall Heifer in the Supreme Drive!
She also won Reserve Intermediate Showman last night!
She represented Apex well! 🥰

Our 9th grade student debate took place this evening. The NCFCA resolution for the year is Resolved: the United States Federal Government should significantly reform Congress.
The students discussed campaign finance reform, the filibuster, and strengthening accountability & anti-corruption while other members of our Apex community observed and judges critiqued each speaker.
I’m proud of the improvements they’ve made throughout this school year with their debate skills and am thankful for Cate Chatman
And her passion for American Government and for teaching and encouraging our students to do hard things!

A couple of our grade levels are already at max capacity! WILD!
