Meet Mrs. Kaitlyn Pena, a Foundation Academy kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Pena has only been with the FA family for one year, but her passion for serving students is already making a meaningful impact in our classrooms.
Mrs. Pena holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She felt called to teaching because of her deep love for children and her desire to serve others. She believes God placed this calling on her life from a young age, and she considers teaching far more than a profession—it is a ministry. Through her work with students, she strives to disciple, encourage, and help shape hearts while guiding children in their learning journey.
One of Mrs. Pena’s greatest joys is watching students grow in confidence as they learn. She loves witnessing those special moments when a child finally understands a new concept and begins to realize what they are capable of accomplishing. Seeing students become excited about learning and experience success is what makes teaching so rewarding for her.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Pena enjoys serving at her church, spending quality time with her family, and embracing the joys of motherhood. Her dedication to faith, family, and education shines through in everything she does, and we are grateful to have her investing in the lives of our youngest learners!

Several former Dominican Republic mission trip participants recently reunited to reconnect and reflect on their experiences. Alumni from multiple years shared updates on their lives, discussed how serving on the mission trip has impacted their faith and worldview, and talked about ways they have continued serving others through missions and ministry opportunities. The group celebrated the lasting influence of the trip and concluded the evening with prayer. The mission may have ended, but the impact continues!

The Plant Street second graders ended the school year with a novel study on the book "Freckle Juice" by Judy Blume. They celebrated by making their own freckle juice and were pleased to find it was much tastier than the one in the book!

Our middle school Speech and Debate students practiced their persuasive speaking skills by creating presentations for their parents on their dream summer vacations!
Students researched their dream locations, shared what makes each destination special, and made compelling arguments for why their parents should take them there this summer. Great job, Lions! We hope your summer takes you to amazing places!
