As we approach the end of the school year, we want to share with you about the upcoming Summer BreakSpot program and its importance to our students.
The Summer BreakSpot program provides no-charge, nutritious meals to children 18 and under throughout the summer months. This initiative ensures our students receive the essential nutrition they need, even when school is not in session. We understand that school meals are crucial to many children's daily diet, and this program helps bridge the gap during summer break.
Here are a few key points about the Summer BreakSpot program:
1 Availability: The program will be available starting on June 2 at various locations throughout the district, including schools, community centers, and other designated sites. To find the site locations and the serving times, parents may go to Summerbreakspot.org or check the OCPS Website under the Food and Nutrition page
2 Meal Types: Breakfast and lunch will be provided, ensuring children can have balanced meals twice daily.
3 Cost: All meals are free of charge to children 18 and under, regardless of family income.
4 Community Engagement: We encourage you to promote this program within your school community. Please share information with students, parents, and staff to ensure all families know about this valuable resource
Thank you for your continued dedication to the well-being of our students. Your support in promoting the Summer BreakSpot program is invaluable and will help ensure that no child in our district goes hungry during the summer months.
