Water Consumption: Studies show that most of us don’t drink enough water throughout the day. The rule of thumb is 6-8 glasses of water per day depending on your daily activities. Water is so important because our body is made up of approximately 70% water. Often times people may over eat because they think they feel hungry when in fact they are dehydrated instead. Think of water as fuel that your body needs in order to perform optimally. You can go for weeks without food but you’ll only survive about 3-4 days without consuming water. Water is literally life for human beings so don’t skip out. Drink up!

Lift for Life: I know there are some women out there who are apprehensive about lifting weights because they don’t want to look muscular or like a man. That’s a myth ladies. Your natural testosterone levels aren’t high enough for you to get that muscular. There are a lot of benefits to lifting weights. Your body actually burns calories long after your training session is over, you can sculpt & add curves by lifting weights, & you can also build strong bones that may prevent osteoporosis or age related muscle atrophy. There is also research that suggests the stronger you are the more likely you are to survive an emergency health situation. So don’t skip the weights, the added strength could potentially save your life!

Weights vs Cardio: I’m often asked what works best for weight loss & fat burning - - weights or cardio. Truth is, there is no one proven way to lose weight & burn fat. There are actually multiple ways to accomplish that. However, research suggests that a combination of both weight training & cardio is the most effective way to maximize your results.
