OMM practical is almost here! 🩺

Our OMS-I students are getting ready for their first OMM practical of the semester—and that means plenty of time in the lab practicing techniques, reviewing skills, and learning alongside their classmates.

The hard work happening now is building the confidence and clinical skills they'll carry with them throughout their medical education and into practice.

Keep going, Student Doctors! You've got this! 💪

Congratulations to Student Doctor Adam Martin on being selected to serve on the AOA VOICES Subgroup for 2026–2027!

This important workgroup supports the American Osteopathic Association, its affiliates, and colleges of osteopathic medicine in creating meaningful opportunities for individuals from historically underrepresented groups in medicine to engage in organizational involvement and leadership.

Adam will help contribute to efforts that advance diversity and inclusion while supporting the development of a stronger, more diverse leadership pipeline across the osteopathic profession.

We are incredibly proud to see our students stepping into leadership roles that help shape the future of medicine. Congratulations, Adam!

Congratulations to Student Doctor Nodurft-Froman on being appointed as the Medical Student Representative for the PRN Advisory Board!

This is an exciting opportunity to represent the student perspective, contribute to important conversations, and help shape initiatives that support the medical student community.

OCOM is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. William “Bill” Anderson, past President of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and a respected leader in the osteopathic medical profession.

Dr. Anderson leaves behind a remarkable legacy of service, leadership, and dedication to osteopathic medicine. His contributions to the profession have touched countless physicians, educators, and students.

Dr. Anderson also holds a special place within the OCOM community. His portrait is proudly displayed in our Masters of Medicine Art Gallery, located just outside the office of his son-in-law, Dr. Gary R. Hill, OCOM’s Associate Dean of Clinical Education.

His legacy will continue to be remembered and honored at OCOM.

We extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Anderson’s family, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory and contributions to osteopathic medicine continue to inspire generations to come.

Dr. Przkora currently serves as a Professor at the University of Florida and Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship Program. We are grateful for the opportunity to share OCOM's vision for medical education and showcase the innovative learning environment our students experience.
