PBS students began the year by stepping into the clinician role! They worked together testing pupil dilation and learning how to accurately measure BPM on their lab partners. 🫀👁️🥼

MI students got their first patient case today! In the role of a genetic counselor, they will help educate their patients on the science behind the disorders and inform them of options available to them to live their healthiest, fullest lives 👩🏻‍⚕️📋🧬

Thank you to Orlando Health Horizon West for their incredible dedication to our Biomedical Program! This year they helped in providing over 340+ Horizon Biomedical students the opportunity to gain firsthand insight from industry-leading healthcare professionals!

Through on-campus career showcases and immersive sessions at the hospital, our students were able to bridge the gap between the classroom and the clinical world, seeing firsthand the diverse paths available in modern medicine.

We extend a special thank you to President Joseph Khayat, Volunteer Coordinator Sarah Fizzle, and Community Relations Manager Courtney Gleaton for their tireless work and commitment helping to inspiring the next generation of medical professionals. 🩺

Thank you to Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital President Joseph Khayat, Dr. Reed Anesthesiologist, and Sarah Fizzle Volunteer Coordinator for putting together "A Day in the Life" experience for our students!

This was such a great opportunity for the students to ask questions and learn about what it takes to become a medical professional.

Thank you to all of the Orlando Health Horizon West staff for sharing your time and allowing our students to see the inner workings of the hospital and careers they hope to achieve throughout this year!
