Our curriculum has a huge focus on relevant, transferable life skills connecting the dots between academics and how students actually use what they learn in the real world.

Here are the topics they’ll explore this fall:

UNMUTED: Communication That Actually Matters
Clear communication • Presenting ideas • Eye contact & body language • Leading conversations • Team communication • Persuasion

INVENTIONS LAB: Think Like an Innovator
Innovation • Creative thinking • Problem-solving • Collaboration • Improving existing ideas • Turning problems into possibilities

CIVICS & ACTIVISM: Learn It. Then Do It.
Civic awareness • Understanding systems • Community issues • Finding your voice • Building real-world campaigns • Presenting ideas

PHILOSOPHY FOR TEENS: Think for Yourself
Critical thinking • Logic • Debate • Values • Different perspectives • Forming and defending your own ideas

And throughout it all: confidence, leadership, teamwork, resourcefulness, decision-making, independence, and real-world application.

Your teen’s inner voice matters more than you think.

The way they talk to themselves after failing.
The way they compare themselves to what they see online.
The way they communicate when they’re frustrated.
The goals they set and whether they believe they can actually achieve them.

These things shape who they’re becoming.

Forged to Succeed was created to help teens understand what’s happening inside their own minds and give them practical tools to navigate it.

Over 4 weeks with Coach Dan, students will work on:

→ Understanding their communication style
→ Recognizing and managing negative thought patterns
→ Social media, identity & self-image
→ Setting meaningful goals and following through

We can’t make every decision for our teens BUT we can teach them how to better lead themselves when we’re not there.

Session 1 starts September 3.

This morning, 16 incredible high school students are starting their journey with Plant Street Academy.

This semester, we’re focusing on three things that will follow them far beyond the classroom:

1. Find Their Voice
Communicate with confidence, navigate interviews and difficult conversations, speak up, advocate for themselves, and connect with others.

2. Think for Themselves
Question information, recognize flawed logic, solve problems, make thoughtful decisions, and understand the world around them.

3. Prepare for Real Life
Build independence, leadership, teamwork, resilience, and the practical skills they’ll need for college, careers, entrepreneurship and whatever comes next.

Plant Street Academy is education for life. And today, their journey begins.

We’re not just a homeschool program. We’re a community.

Our students come here to learn, but they also find their people. They make friends, build memories, meet mentors, create connections, and begin building a network that can stay with them long after they leave our classrooms.

15 high schoolers are starting their fall semester at Plant Street Academy this Monday, August 24.

They’re going to learn:

* How to walk into a job interview and confidently talk about themselves
* How to use the STAR Method and answer difficult interview questions
* How to negotiate and advocate for themselves
* How to speak publicly without letting fear take over
* How to network and communicate in real social settings
* How to handle conflict and difficult conversations
* How to recognize manipulation and flawed logic
* How to analyze an argument instead of simply accepting it
* How to make thoughtful decisions when there isn’t an obvious right answer
* How global economies, cultures and world events affect their lives
* How innovation actually happens and the consequences that can come with it
* How to question information, think independently and form their own conclusions
* How to work with others, solve problems and become more resourceful
* How to build confidence, independence and real-world awareness

Five hours every Monday. Approximately 20 hours of hands-on, real-world learning every month.

College. Career. Entrepreneurship. Something completely different.

We don’t know which path each of these 15 students will choose yet. That’s the point. We’re helping prepare them for all of them.

Lenka will join an inspiring group of business and community leaders coming together to create opportunities for young people.

The event supports the Warner Family Sports Foundation and its mission to expand access to sports, scholarships, leadership development, and opportunities for children from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

That mission is incredibly close to what we believe at Plant Street Academy: when young people are given opportunities, mentorship, and people who believe in their potential, incredible things can happen.

We are honored to see our founder representing Plant Street Academy alongside so many leaders who are using their businesses, voices, and influence to strengthen our community.
