Today was Dolly Day at school. We honored Dolly Parton's sparkle and her incredible heart for children.

Through her Imagination Library, Dolly helped put books into the hands and homes of millions of children, reminding us just how powerful a love of reading can be!

One of Dolly's famous stories was about the colorful coat that her mother made for her. Today we shared Joseph's Colorful Coat from "For nothing will be impossible with God." - Luke 1:37

It was really special talking with our preschoolers about kindness, generosity, giving back, and using what we have to make a difference in someone else's life. Dolly's example is a beautiful reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a BIG impact.

Of course we added a little Dolly-style fun with sparkle to our day, too!

A very special thank you to Kiwanis Club of Winter Garden - Horizon West for donating literacy bags with books to all of our preschoolers!

Our curriculum is more than the activities we plan. It is found in the relationships we build, the environments we create, and the opportunities we give children to wonder, explore, make mistakes, grow in independence, and experience God's love.

Our core value this month is respect. Our preschoolers learn respect through their relationships, repetition, modeling, and practice.

In our preschool community, we treat others with kindness and respect because every person is valuable and loved by God.

Sweet reminders of why we do what we do come straight from the hearts of our friends. Quote of the day "This is the BEST preschool EVER! I love my school!"

Those words mean more than they will ever know. They remind us that the relationships we build, the hugs we give, the laughter we share, and the memories we create truly matter.

We may be teaching little hearts, but those little hearts sure have a way of touching ours.

Next week we will kick off our Little Drops of Love Water Drive. Beginning August 31st, we are inviting our preschool families and neighboring communities to donate cases of water that will go to the Matthew's Hope Outreach team to give out to the guests we serve each week.

While a bottle of water may seem like a small gift, especially during the Florida heat, it can mean so much to someone in need. Even more importantly, this drive gives our children an opportunity to experience what it means to give, serve, and care for others.

At the preschool age, children are beginning to understand empathy, kindness, and the needs of people around them. When we allow them to participate in giving, bringing in a case of water, helping collect donations, or talking about who we are helping, we make those lessons real. They begin to understand that even though they are little, they can make a big difference.

We encourage you to involve your child in choosing or bringing in your family's donation. Talk with them about why we are collecting water and how their kindness can help another person, just as Jesus helped others.

At Firm Foundation Preschool, we want our children to grow not only academically, but also into compassionate people with hearts for serving others. We are reminded in scripture:

"Let all that you do be done in love." - Corinthians 16:14

There is something incredibly special about watching a former student grow up and choose to serve others. ❤️

Seeing one of our former students, Aiden, volunteering at the food bank at his church filled my heart with so much pride. Years ago, we had the privilege of being a small part of his journey, and now he is giving his time and heart to make sure others in his community are cared for.

Education is about so much more than what children learn in a classroom. It’s about planting seeds of kindness, compassion, faith, and service—and hoping those seeds continue to grow long after they leave us.

What a beautiful reminder that our children are always watching, learning, and becoming the people God created them to be. So proud of this young man and the difference he is already making. ❤️🙏
