If you are planning on getting your Texas Journeyman electrical License here soon your exam is going to be moving from a 1 part exam to a 2 part exam starting March 1. The new Journeyman exam will have a NEC Knowledge and a new Calculation portion. You will have to pass both portions to get your Journeyman license. The picture attached will give you an idea of what new exam will look like. Let us know if you have any questions!

If you are a Texas Cosmetologist that holds multiple licenses (Like an esthetician and a manicurist license) You only need to complete 1 course for 4 hours of continuing education to renew all licenses you hold. As long as it is the same person that holds the license, they only need to complete 1 course. Let us know if you have any questions about this!

If you are going for your Oklahoma Electrical Contractors or Journeyman’s license a few things have changed about your test lately.

First the passing score has been lowered from 75% down to 70%.

And second the test has officially moved from the 2020 NEC to the 2023 NEC. Make sure you have the right codebook when going to take your test!

Texas! Starting today your Journeyman and Masters electrician test will be based on the 2023 National Electrical code. Be sure to bring the 2023 edition and not the 2020 edition to class and your test.

Texas electricians looking to take your exam here soon. The TDLR and PSI have delayed the rollout of the 2023 NEC by 1 month. Your Texas Journeyman and Master electrician exam will be on the 2023 NEC starting October 1.

Heads up Oklahoma! If you are planning on taking your electrical exam in the state of Oklahoma soon, starting December 28 the test will be moving from the 2017 NEC to the 2020 NEC. This applies to both contractors and Journeyman exams.
