At WSSU, we're creating more flexible pathways for working adults to earn a WSSU degree while balancing careers, families and life.

This fall, we welcomed our first students into accelerated online Flight Path programs powered by Project Kitty Hawk, and we're already seeing momentum, with first-term enrollment exceeding projections.

Outstanding Value. Transformational Opportunity.

It's another way and helping more North Carolinians rise with us.

More working adults are earning UNC System degrees on schedules that fit their lives.

Project Kitty Hawk enrolled a record 2,889 adult learners in online Flight Path degree programs this fall, up 54% from last year.

These aren't typical college students. The average Flight Path student is 32, 75% work full time, and more than 80% are North Carolina residents. And they're succeeding. Students are continuing from one term to the next at a 90% rate.

With new programs at Winston-Salem State University and UNCW this fall, Flight Path now offers 25 online degree programs across six UNC System universities.

| Record numbers. Real results.

A record 1,900 WSSU students connected with 160 employers and graduate schools at the 2026 Career & Graduate School Expo on Sept. 15, a 29% jump in attendance over last fall. From NASCAR to law schools to government agencies, students walked away with resumes handed off, interviews lined up and real advice from recruiters who came ready to invest in them.

The admiration went both ways. "The graduate fair at Winston-Salem State University is always the biggest, the most prepared. It is the Olympics of grad fairs as far as the fall recruiting season," said Dr. Tatum Taylor, assistant director of graduate admissions, recruiting and outreach at East Carolina University.
