Over the past week and a half, our Summer Explorers have been busy creating, exploring, and learning through hands-on art experiences!

While the finished projects are adorable, there’s so much more happening behind the scenes. Every paintbrush stroke, glue dot, cut with scissors, and carefully placed craft piece helps strengthen fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, finger strength, concentration, and creativity. These are all important building blocks for future writing, independence, and problem-solving skills.

Our campers aren’t just making crafts, they’re building confidence, practicing patience, expressing themselves, and developing skills that will benefit them for years to come.

🐄🌽 Down on the Farm Week at Little Stars Summer Explorers! 🌽🐄

What a wonderful start to our summer adventures! This week, our explorers traded the classroom for the “farm” and spent their days learning through hands-on experiences, sensory play, creativity, and plenty of fun.

One of the highlights of the week was making our very own butter! The children worked hard shaking cream, watching it transform, and then enjoying the reward of tasting their homemade butter on fresh bread. There were lots of smiles, surprised faces, and proud moments as they discovered where some of our everyday foods come from.

We also embraced our creative side with chocolate pudding painting! This farm-themed sensory art activity allowed the children to explore different textures, create unique masterpieces, and engage all of their senses while having a blast.

Anyone can decorate a classroom beautifully or plan daily activities, but the heart of a school will always be the people caring for the children inside of it.

One thing we are incredibly proud of is the quality, experience, and heart behind our teachers.

Every member of our team brings years of experience working with children, and interestingly, three out of four of us also has a background connected to the medical field in some way as well! That means our staff not only understands early childhood development and emotional needs, but also the importance of safety, attentiveness, patience, and caring for children as whole individuals.

Our entire team is CPR and First Aid certified, experienced, nurturing, and deeply invested in creating an environment where children feel safe, loved, encouraged, and truly known.

But beyond degrees, certifications, continuing education, and experience, what matters most to us is how children FEEL when they walk through our doors.

Our little artists stepped right into the world of Vincent van Gogh. ✨🎨

After reading Katie and the Starry Night, students created their own beautiful versions of Starry Night, filled with swirling skies, imagination, and creativity. Seeing children connect literature and art together in such a magical way is something truly special. 💙🌙⭐
