The Heraldic Institute Medal of Merit is awarded to individuals who have served the cause of in special ways. To qualify, candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of service OR a significant impact on the art or science of heraldry - OR both. You can find the form to nominate someone for this award on our website. This medal serves to complement existing national heraldic awards, allowing organisations to recognise their dedicated volunteers when they may otherwise lack resources for such recognition. Applications are taken throughout the year.

Another Art Nouveau bookplate, created in 1907 by Sydney-based commercial artist D[avid] H[enry] Souter, found in a bound volume of 'Cymbeline' (Trübner, 1883) which once belonged to the Shakespeare Society of NSW (founded 1900).
