Summer water play is full of learning moments hiding in plain sight!

Try these with your little one next time you're by the water table, bath, or a bucket of pool toys:

🔢 Count — "Let's count how many scoops it takes to fill the bucket!"

🐙 Group — "Let's put all the floating toys in this bowl. Can you find another toy that floats?"

💧 Compare — "Which bowl holds more water? Let's test it!"

Brigitte and her student have been meeting all summer — working through lessons and reading a book he chose. This year, for the first time, Love Literacy let students pick their own end-of-year books. He picked his, and now they're reading it together.

This is one way Love Literacy tutors show up for children in Forsyth County!

You have led Love Literacy with extraordinary vision, care, and courage — through a pandemic, a name change, new programs, and countless moments that never make the highlight reel but shape everything.

You have given so much of yourself to this organization and we are deeply grateful.

In Esharan's own words: "Leading Love Literacy has been an incredible honor. I am incredibly grateful to the staff, volunteers, partners, and community members who helped carry this work forward every day. As I transition out of this role, my hope for Love Literacy is that it continues to grow its impact while holding tightly to the values that have guided it and an unwavering commitment to literacy for all children in our community."

Today is Esharan's final day as Executive Director. We are glad to share that she will remain with Love Literacy part-time, continuing to steward the community partnerships she has helped build.

25 years ago, 6 tutors walked into South Fork Elementary with a simple, powerful belief: that every child deserves to read. That belief hasn't changed. But everything around it has grown!
