Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is proud to recognize two outstanding Healthful Living teachers for their dedication to professional growth and student wellness this summer. Shawn Mouzon-Byrd of Flat Rock Middle School and Angela Lambson of Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy traveled to California to attend the Specialized OUTRIDE Bike Conference and Training after their schools were awarded national grants to receive 30 Specialized Rockhopper mountain bikes and helmets. Shawn, who received the grant last year, returned to the conference as a leader and trainer, sharing her expertise with educators from across the country. Angela attended as a first-time grant recipient, gaining valuable knowledge to bring back to her students. Their commitment to learning, leading, and expanding opportunities for students is a testament to the excellence of WS/FCS educators as they prepare for a successful 2026–2027 school year.
