Refurbishment of the Wait Chapel steeple will begin on Monday, August 7. The work is expected to take approximately six weeks. During this time, access around the steeple side of the Chapel will be limited.

Facilities will be using a 135-foot lift and a rigging system at the steeple level. For your protection, do not cross barricades or enter into the work area.

Happy Birthday, Carl Linnaeus! Born on May 23, 1707, Linnaeus is known as the father of taxonomy due to his introduction of a system of classifying and naming organisms according to genus and species, called binomial nomenclature. The system, which utilizes Latin, allows for the naming of multiple species in one genus. Scientists today use a modified version of Linnaeus’s system. Because the same naming convention is used throughout the world, it eliminates much confusion when discussing organisms.
