When we find ourselves in the middle of life’s storms, or need a quick pick-me-up, we turn to verses that give us an immediate dose comfort, hope, and peace. But what about every other day of the week? How does diving into God’s Word on our ordinary days change our hearts?
After many years of hard work and research, our friends at the Center for Bible Engagement (CBE) discover something quite amazing: those who engage with the Bible at least 4️⃣x a week find a noticeable difference in their spiritual growth!
Here are some of the quick facts:
✅ Proactive Faith: People who engage with the Bible most days of the week are more likely to give financially, memorize scripture, and share their faith.
✅ Less Spiritual Stagnation: Regular Bible engagement reduces feelings of spiritual stagnation and the sense that one cannot please God.
✅ Decreased Struggles: Engaging with the Bible consistently is linked to a decreased likelihood of struggling with feelings of bitterness, destructive thinking, difficulty forgiving others, and discouragement.
✅ Reduced Temptations: Frequent Bible engagement is associated with a reduced likelihood of giving in to temptations such as drinking to excess, viewing po*******hy, and lashing out in anger.
