Today we celebrate the feast of Mary, Seat of Wisdom, the patroness who has guided our school community throughout this year.
As we reflect on our theme, "Illuminated by Wisdom: Embracing Mary, Seat of Wisdom," we give thanks for Mary's example of faith, humility, and openness to God's will. Mary invites us to seek wisdom in our studies, our relationships, and our daily choices. Through her example, we are reminded that true wisdom is not simply knowledge, but a life rooted in love of God and a desire to follow Him faithfully.
Our guiding Scripture this year has been:
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." — Proverbs 9:10
This verse reminds us that wisdom begins with a relationship with God. By turning to Mary, Seat of Wisdom, we are encouraged to grow in virtue, deepen our faith, and draw ever closer to Jesus Christ.
Thank you, Mary, for accompanying our students, faculty, and families throughout this school year. May we continue to be illuminated by God's wisdom and inspired by your example wherever our journey leads us.
Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us.

Today we celebrated the remarkable teaching legacy of Ms. Degnan. For 42 years, she has embodied the heart of Mercy through her dedication, compassion, faith, and unwavering commitment to her students. While she will be greatly missed, her legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives she has touched throughout her career.
Following Mass, Ms. Degnan was surprised with a special recognition and presented with 42 roses, each representing a year of teaching and service. As a lasting tribute, a statue of St. Anthony, one of her favorite saints and a source of inspiration throughout her teaching journey, will be placed in the new Degnan Family Garden, created around a tree planted in memory of her mother.
We invite all alumni, families, friends, and community members to join us tomorrow from 4:00–6:00 PM in the school gym for a special drop-in celebration honoring Ms. Degnan and the incredible impact she has made on Our Lady of Mercy.
