So glad the Common App will include optional questions about COVID this year giving students voice during this time.
COVID-19 Question on 2020-2021 Common App With instant access to more than 800 colleges and universities around the world, the Common App is the most seamless way to manage the application process.
As guidelines for COVID remain active, summer boot camp sessions may not be possible this summer. I am booking one-on-one sessions for rising Seniors beginning in June.
A two-hour Zoom session ($150) to develop ideas serves students well in strategically choosing essay topics while highlighting students’ best traits. This fee includes one reading with editing and revision suggestions as well. Multiple short and long essays require more time and an hourly fee.
Reach out via messenger or [email protected] for more information.
The first day of essay camp is complete with an organization plan created, ideas developed, Common App questions selected, and brainstorming started. Room for three more in next week's essay camp from 10:00-1:00, Monday-Friday! Has your Senior started working on his or her applications? DM me for details.
Top Five Summer Goals for Rising Seniors
1. Finish college visits and determine your college list.
2. Make a timeline for the admissions process and set small goals like beginning the Common App.
3. Have honest family conversations about best-fit opportunities: academic, social, and financial aspects for the student and family as a whole. For example, how much is the family willing to contribute vs. the individual student’s responsibility?
4. Complete your Common App personal statement and any short essays. I can help with this one!
5. Determine one day per week for college talk. Use #2 to help your family stick to this one throughout the process to save everyone’s sanity!

"Your workshop helped my daughter so much — understanding the common application, beginning the essay, writing a student resume, and your advice - all were so influential in the final product of her common application. She spent a lot of time writing her essays, and I thought they were very good. They truly told her story and were a reflection of who she is, her passions, concerns, and goals— just as you advised your students to do." - Parent of William and Mary rising freshman.

We spent last week visiting my son’s final choices for in-state schools. Wondering about my takeaway from admissions officers? Spending quality time on idea development is one way to help students stand out on their applications. At every visit, admissions representatives shared their impressions of tired topics and mistakes made. I can help! Invest in two-hours of brainstorming and conversation to help students do the thinking and connecting to write with purpose and authenticity. Reach out for more information!
