Discovering career paths that align with your interests and have the potential for impact is a key part of being a student. At a recent panel, Professor Kenny Herbst answered the question, “What is Marketing?” He shared the many possibilities within a career in marketing, how the industry is evolving with the adoption of AI and the importance of ethical leadership across every industry.

A group of students, including two , then took the stage to share their own experiences in marketing-related internships over the summer. From NBCUniversal Philadelphia and Maybelline New York (L’Oréal) to Mead & Hunt and Nasuni, these students gained valuable industry experience and brought those insights back to their peers.

We look forward to seeing where these students take their interests, experiences and leadership as they begin their careers. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event memorable!

It’s been nearly a month since our newest cohorts in Charlotte and Winston-Salem began their programs and we’re still reliving highlights from orientation, when these students began to expand their leadership skills, professional networks and ability to make well-rounded business decisions with impact.

Extending our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible professionals who joined us as part of the 2026 SportsBIZ Speaker Series!

This summer, professionals representing more than a dozen roles across the sports industry generously shared their time, expertise and experiences with our SportsBIZ students. From NASCAR, the NBA, Washington Nationals, Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Heat, Fanatics and Wake Forest Athletics, among many others, our students had the opportunity to learn directly from leaders working across the business of sports.

For SportsBIZ participants, the Speaker Series helps bring the entire program together, connecting the concepts explored throughout the course with the real-world experiences of professionals.

We’re thrilled to welcome our newest Master of Science in Accountancy cohort!

These students have just completed their first week of classes and are settling into life as .
