System Pressure Advisory ⚠️ Boil Water Notice

The water consumers of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities in Forsyth County are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to a significant water main break. See the map in the image below, at the link in bio, or in comments for impacted areas. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

Therefore, when water service is restored, consumers are advised to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water.

Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

Water customers are strongly urged to conserve water whenever possible. This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued. Advisory issued July 29, 2026.

Due to interruptions in water service due to a water main break affecting the eastern side of the county, Forsyth County Health and Human Services facilities are closed but staff continue to work remotely and can be reached by phone or email. This includes Public Health, Social Services, Behavioral Health Services including the pharmacy and Bridges to Hope Family Justice Center.
