Salem Academy was founded four years before the Declaration of Independence was signed, and has not closed its doors in more than 200 years. The Moravians, an early Protestant denomination, established the village of Salem in 1766. Among the town's early residents were sixteen girls

Our A Capella student singers are thrilled to announce the release of two new singles, now available on streaming platforms worldwide!

For our summer 2026 releases, the group tackled two beloved tracks: "Where Have You Been?" originally written and recorded by Kelly Clarkson, and "Can't Help Falling in Love," the classic Elvis favorite reimagined by Kacey Musgraves. Both songs were custom arranged by Travis Murray and recorded and mixed by Music Director Dr. Mike Fitch.

Search for Salem Academy A Ca****la Singers on your favorite music service to find these two new releases, and be sure to explore our prior audio recordings while you are there!

Before crossing the stage this spring, the Class of 2026 took their final Salem adventure to New Mexico as part of their 2026 Maymester class trip.

Steeped in art, history, and wide open skies, the Land of Enchantment offered the perfect backdrop for this last hurrah together. From ancient pueblos to river rapids to starlit skies, these young women showed up curious, connected, and ready for everything ahead. We are so proud of them!

Congratulations to Addison '26, this year's Faculty Award recipient, the only honor presented at Commencement!

Her influence is not measured by the volume of activities, but by the presence of her spirit. In every space she enters, she leads quietly and consistently, putting others first while staying rooted in her own convictions.

The faculty and staff see in Addison the very qualities that define the spirit of Salem Academy: integrity, compassion, courage, leadership, and a heart devoted to serving others.

We also took time to honor two remarkable faculty members: Dr. Christopher Clary, recipient of the Joel Weston Award for Faculty and Staff Excellence, and Ms. Felecia Penn A'03, recipient of the Elsie Nunn Head of School Award.
