Due to extreme heat, Winston-Salem Transit Authority (WSTA) will provide free bus rides to cooling centers across the city on Friday. Here's when the routes will begin. FULL STORY⬇️

The end of the year snuck up on us so we did not get in a formal PTA meeting. So, ballots will be emailed on June 13 for President and Vice President. Our secretary and treasurer were elected this year and serve a two year term.

The nominee for President is Fara O’Byrne. Fara currently serves as Vice President and has been responsible for some of the amazing things going on at CMS this year. She led the boxed food drive and fundraiser and also was behind the end of the school fun day. Her daughter Merritt is a rising 7th grader. Her other daughter Miller, heads to West Forsyth this year.

Our nominee for Vice President is Lauren Schneider. She has been the head of Staff Appreciation for the past two years. This year, she was able to secure a meal for every day of Teacher (and Staff) Appreciation Week and in the last two years, has provided our staff with meals almost every month. She has two daughters at CMS. Eloise is a rising 8th grader and Elsie is a rising 7th grader. She also has a daughter, Evie, at West Forsyth.

One of our students lost their home in a fire this morning and the family lost everything. We are collecting fast food gift cards and DoorDash/Uber Eats gift cards to help with meals over the next few days. If you would like to donate, please feel free to drop off gift cards at our office and we will make sure the family gets them. We are still waiting to get clothing sizes. Thank you for supporting them during this difficult time.

In celebration of the end of the school year, we surprised staff and students with an elementary style field day!

We are certainly not trying to rush summer, but we would like to have any equally awesome or better school year 2026-2027!
