¡Querida comunidad!

As a curandera and a first-generation Latine American, I feel deeply connected to our shared stories and the power of love to heal and uplift. This election is a profound moment for all of us, and I want to share why your voice matters in shaping a future filled with hope and harmony.

1. Healthcare for All: The proposal to eliminate the Affordable Care Act could strip vital healthcare from millions of our neighbors. When one person lacks access to health, the ripple effect is felt throughout our entire community, creating anxiety and stress. Imagine a world where every family thrives in health—this is our sacred right!

2. Education as Empowerment: The potential cuts to essential educational programs will not only affect our children but will dim the light of our future. I recall my mother running from immigration raids in the 80s, a single mother doing everything she could to secure a better life for us. She faced the heartbreaking choice to join the military for legal status—a choice no mother should have to make. We deserve a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and flourish!

3. Community and Belonging: The threat of detention and deportation looms over our communities like a shadow. When one of us is detained, it tears at the fabric that holds us together. Families, friends, and neighbors are affected, and the love and support we create in our homes become disrupted. Let us stand together to nurture the connections that make us whole!

Action Steps for Our Community:
1. Register to Vote: Ensure your voice is counted—every vote is a step towards our collective future. Wanna know how, im here and here are more detailshttps://www.co.forsyth.nc.us/elections/Documents/MediaGuide-Nov2024.pdf
2. Share the Message: Talk with your family, friends, and neighbors about the importance of voting. Let’s spread the love and awareness! For every 4 undocumented family members there is 1 US Citizen, wake em up.
3. Educate Yourself: Know what you want to see for our families, our children, and our communities. Understanding is the first step toward unity. Share YOUR voice on social media, churches, your schools. WSFCS Parent Support (Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools)

Together, we can create a narrative that uplifts our community here in and beyond. We are not just here to be heard; we are here to weave the stories that keep our community alive—the workers, the caretakers, the dreamers who build our world with love and compassion.

Reach out if you want to be part of our upcoming rally in Forsyth County! Let’s come together to honor our ancestors, our dreams, and the magic that resides in all of us.

❤️ Your voice is powerful—let’s use it to create a future filled with peace and harmony! ❤️

Come remember. Come Remind. Come Revolutionize the fear based beliefs with us with your voz, and your votos. Don’t know where to start, aqui estoy herman@s!

STAY TUNED about the rally soon and how to get involved!

Somos La Medicina, and we are ready.

My people and I have been on death row long enough. It’s time we rise up, remember, and reclaim what is rightfully ours.

As a curandera, a mother, a Latina, a child of immigrants, a former public school educator, and a rising advocate for justice, I am calling us into action. We must remember the multitude of contributions of Latines in the United States—the labor, the culture, the resilience. From building this country alongside our Black, Asian and Indigenous brothers and sisters, to shaping its future, we are woven into the very fabric of this land. It’s time we fully recognize and honor that.

We are not voiceless, and we can no longer afford to be silent. As we step into the polls with our driver's licenses in hand, we need to do so in droves, knowing that our votes, our voices, and our presence have the power to shift the narrative. America was built on the backs of the Black, Indigenous, Asian and Latine communities, and it is time we reclaim our place at the table, not as guests, but as equals alongside our white brothers and sisters.

We refuse to be housed on death row, waiting for the systems designed by colonizers to break us down. The very lies we’ve been conditioned to believe—the story of Columbus, the distortion of history, the erasure of our contributions—end now. Christopher Columbus was not a hero, he was an annihilator of our nations, and it is time we stop teaching this false narrative. Thanksgiving and “discovery” must be reexamined and restructured, with truth at the forefront. This is a call to action today, more than a month earlier for educators and schools to recreate their lessons to eliminate these lies that disseminate and destroy the social and emotional well being of all of the students, teachers AND COMMUNITIES they serve.

Today, I demand educational reform—the restructuring of what is being taught, by whom, and how. We must honor the full truth from a place of love, unity, and inclusion for all, not just the select few. Just as plants, trees and the earth erode, moves and changes and shifts with the elements, the air, the fire, the water and the animals migration we have and can embody the new stories of oneness. We are all connected, sharing DNA and history, and it’s time to bring that truth into the light.

Somos La Medicina. We are here to remind, remember, and revolutionize the educational system. Policies, laws, and fear have kept us suppressed long enough, creating emotional, spiritual, and health crises for adults and children alike.

Forsyth County, it’s time to rise up. Join me and my community as we call for justice, for truth, and for a future where we are all seen, heard, and valued. Let’s break the chains of oppression and reclaim our rightful place in history.

Come remember. Come Remind. Come Revolutionize the public school system with us with your voz, and your votos. Don’t know where to start, aqui estoy herman@s!

Somos La Medicina, and we are ready. TOWN HALL MEETING TO COME WITHIN THE next few WEEKS, SHARE AND KEEP up to date...

P.S. JUST CHOOSE A SIDE... not complaining, not standing up for what you believe, doesn’t change anything. Take a breath, connect with the earth and listen to your heartbeat, you will know what you need to do.

Hola Beautiful FB Familia,

Friday afternoon, a mother called me, her voice trembling, her heart breaking. Her son, full of life and energy, was punished for being fidgety in class. Instead of understanding, they are taking away his recess on Monday in a room with others for “punishment.” They told her this late on a Friday, leaving her helpless for the weekend. She asked, "Why wasn’t I told earlier? My son is smart; he does well in school. Is this right?"

As a former educator, I know it’s not. Punishing a child by taking away the very thing that allows them to release energy—it’s not just unfair, it’s illegal. But more than that, it’s a sign of a deeper issue, one we the Latine community has been struggling with for decades. This mother trusts me to give her the truth. That’s where we’re failing—building deep relationships with our community. Its not enough to have an interpreter regurgitating injustices or to put someone in a job that looks like our people. Systems are being built, but we’re losing the humanity, the heart, the connection we know how to build and sustain, its in our indigenous ways.

This isn’t an isolated incident. These stories of disconnection, of children slipping through the cracks, are everywhere. And this is why I’m returning to face the book I have been told to close by the well meaning colonizers—to be the advocate for those voices that are unheard, for those mothers who know in their bones that something isn’t right but are told to stay silent because of language, rules and regulations created to control and by fear. I can no longer watch as systems punish our children and silence our families.

It’s time to stand in the gaping wounds of the educational system, to stop running from the pain it’s caused, and to bring healing back into our community with all those that want to stand in the gap with us. Somos La Medicina, We are the Medicine, and it’s time to remember and embody that.

I am here to be that mother running into the burning building, not alone, but with my own familia, the strength of my ancestors and my community at my side. We, together, are the ones we’ve been waiting for. It’s time to reclaim our power, to honor the divinity in each of us, and to demand a new way for our children and families.

This is a collective journey. We are the medicine our ancestors left for us. We will heal, and we will rise, together. Join me as I continue to share the nuggets of true Modern Day Curanderia in everyday Lifing. Its more than just a modality, its a way of LIFING...

FREE Guided Relaxation Meditation: Let's Get Deep

I see you Mindful Badass Mama Working on creating your dreams unapologetically...

-

FREE Guided Relaxation Meditation: Let's Get Deep Yesterday I worked with a client that is a HIGHLY educated Engineer. She has decades of experience, money up the w***o and leads a global company to even greater heights. She is lost in what she wants to do because she has encountered some issues at her job. Specifically with the next in command.

What does it mean to be a Mindful Badass Mama?

"Until we make the unconscious conscious it (situations) will direct our lives and we will call it fate." -Carl Jung

It's WHEN we go through "situations" that we have the opportunity to be Mindful, pause, and lean into the uncomfortable so that we can grow through with ease rather than fighting what is. We all go through situations, it's HOW we respond to it that allows us to be an even more resilient and resourceful Mindful Badass Mama.

It's about embracing imperfections, using fear as leverage, tapping into our unconscious mind (the 95% of our conditioned behaviors) and finding excitement in challenges others think are impossible.

Let's rewrite the narrative and make our ancestors proud, because we are the ancestors for future generations who want to know it is possible to create their dreams unapologetically.

Share this with a Mama who's ready to create her own fate regardless of what has or is happening that derails her efforts! We got this together!

💬 Comment below with what being a Mindful Badass Mama means to you! Let's inspire and uplift each other! 💖👇

In the past we would say yes darling to respond to others.
What happened to that expression?

We know saying yes can become overwhelming for many. We also know that women have the right to say no unapologetically.

Setting boundaries on when to say yes is key.

You can say yes I can do that but after I do …

You can say yes I would like to do that but can not commit at this time unless you help prioritize

Or you can say No Darling.

It’s ok to say no, as everyone has the same amount of time and ability to get something done.

Most important remember to say yes darling to yourself and know your limits!
