Praying for all of our students, teachers, support staff, admins, nutrition, bus drivers, families….everyone, as we embark on a new year! 🙏🏼❤️

Had a great time at the School Supplies Drive yesterday fellowshipping with Camel City United Indivisible. It was encouraging to see so many people come together to support local students as they head back to school.

Thanks to everyone who helped organize and showed up to give — looking forward to what’s next.

Prayers for all of our students, teachers, staff, and families as we begin another year! May it be the best year yet 🙏🏼❤️

What a great time this morning! Thankful for ALL of our amazing teachers and staff and all those that support our schools ❤️❤️

I have debated on saying anything about this, however I cannot be silent. I love and believe in public education and I believe the vast majority of others do too. However, if those that do love and appreciate public education do not speak up and use their voices and let those in our State Legislature know how they feel, public education will be further eroded. It is happening right now. There is no more waiting around or hoping it won't happen...it is happening!!

This should not be a right or left or red or blue issue. This should be a right or wrong issue and y'all these bills in the state legislature are just plain wrong!!

CONTACT YOUR STATE LEGISLATORS!!! EMAIL. CALL. DO BOTH. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF PUBLIC EDUCATION, DO SOMETHING!!! (Yes, I typed in all caps because I am begging you to help us try to save public education!)

So proud; WS/FCS received the 2022 Spirit of North Carolina Award from the United Way!

Hey y’all! So I admit, I have been slack about posting but hopefully you forgive me because I have been BUSY!

What have I beeen up too?? Well, I have….

- visited every single non school facility (I am B&G chair it’s important to know about ALL the buildings) and talked to as many staff as possible
- visited schools
- visited, by invitation, several classrooms
- attended the symphony with a bunch of really excited 5th graders.
- attended playground groundbreaking at Kimberly Park
- attended the 100 year celebration at Reynolds HS
- attended countless workshops and other meetings.
- my senior mentoring & other volunteering
- meetings with various community members
- read my agenda books from cover to cover
- attended the MLK Day Celebration Breakfast
- attended JF Kennedy HS Ribbon Cutting
- attended Student & Family Services Event
