The program also encourages the creation of positive peer pressure among students of all ages. Safe Sober supports the Triad community and beyond by promoting our collective physical, mental, and social health. Day at Fulton Family YMCA brought smiles, laughter, and unforgettable memories during the last week before school starts back for WS/FCS.

Campers rocked their Safe Sober shirts, learned from David about the power of positive choices, and finished the day singing their hearts out at karaoke and showing off their hula hoop skills. A sweet ending to an incredible summer! ☀️🎤💙

Through this partnership, we’ve had the amazing opportunity to connect with local police departments and help bring Operation Triad Play to life.

At Safe Sober, we believe every young person deserves the chance to reach their full potential. That’s why we partnered with the William G. White Jr. YMCA to create the Safe Sober Teen Center, a trusted local space that hosts programs like Reaching Our Potential.

Through the Safe Sober Teen Center, students ages 11 to 18 can take part in workshops, peer mentoring, and after‑school leadership groups that build confidence, strengthen decision‑making skills, and encourage healthy choices.

Reaching Our Potential gives students a free YMCA membership along with access to mentorship and a safe, supportive environment where they can grow, connect, and develop the skills they need for a brighter future.

As we enter the weekend, here's a reminder from Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough, Jr. about the dangers of impaired driving. The reality is sobering: 1 in 4 fatal crashes involves alcohol.

Our community is counting on each of us to make the right choice when it comes to drugs, alcohol, and driving. Stay safe. Stay sober.
