As part of the Force and Motion unit, the 5th grade HAG students created roller coasters out of insulation tubing. The students used the Engineering and Design Process to create a coaster that had a vertical loop, 3 hills and a curve. They filmed their coaster and used the film to create a Distance-Time graph of the motion of their "passenger", or marble. It was a ton of fun and educational!

This week the 5th graders at Brunson dissected a frog to learn more about human body systems. They also were able to engage in several hands-on experiments and demonstrations about heat transfer. We had a great time at Catawba Science Center!
