Hi Friends! As many of you know, OSRE has suspended operations beginning March 16th due to the unfortunate realities of COVID-19 and it's effect on the hands-on nature of our programs.
At this time, we have not found a way to meet the current risk management recommendations for 6' distancing, appropriate PPE, and frequent cleaning of hands and equipment during our Swiftwater Rescue, Kayaking, Rafting, and Wilderness Medicine Training programs.
We know that these recommendations are some of the ways in which we can limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and as a business focused on health, safety, and rescue, we are taking our responsibility during this unprecedented situation very seriously. Hopefully the current restrictions will be effective, and we can get back to what we love doing as soon as is reasonable.
On an optimistic note, the outdoor industry is working hard at creating new processes and procedures that will enable us to protect community health while still offering hands-on programing. With the extra time I have had on my hands, I have been able to participate with a lot of great outdoor educators in the planning and review of many of these new ideas!
In the next several days, I will be posting Summer and Fall courses that we are going to go ahead and plan for, with the hope that we will be able to be back to "new" normal soon.
We are doing our best to be the responsible and community minded training business that you have been counting on since 2005, and as soon as it is appropriate to re-open, we will be back at it at 100%!!
