The 2025-2026 school year has ended, but things are still hopping at Saint Francis Xavier School! Our summer maintenance crew is mopping, waxing, caulking, washing, and basically doing whatever needs to be done to keep our premises bright and shiny and ready to go for the next school year. Volunteer extraordinaire Brian Senecal even used a lift to sand and re-stain the large flagpole over the Early Ed Center entrance. Thank you, Mr. Senecal!

The annual end of year Fun Day at Saint Francis Xavier was Friday, June 12. It was a beautiful summer day and one of the hottest of the year so the words of the day were FUN, FUN, FUN and HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! It was a wonderful day thanks to the work so many: our PE teacher and Fun Day Guru, Mr. Dowd; our Home and School Association that provided all the fun shirts and organized the delicious BBQ; the scores of volunteers -- parents, alumni, friends-- who manned the stations, made lots of goodies, served the food, and kept everyone safe and happy! As the temperature approached 90, the hottest volunteers were our hard working grill guys and the luckiest volunteers were those getting wet in the dunk tank!

A happy Father's Day to all our wonderful dads in the Saint Francis Xavier School community. We see you in action day in and day out and you are all gifts to our children. And that includes those men who step up to act as dads for any child who needs a father figure in his or her life. A special shout out to two of our own who are:1) a very recent dad to baby number 2 and 2) a soon to be dad to baby #1! Happy Father's Day to Mr. Dowd and Mr. Sherman!

A heartfelt thank you to Grace Lacayo for her generous donation to Vermont Catholic Charities in honor of her 9th birthday! Grace asked that her birthday donation be used to support local families through our food card program. What a thoughtful and compassionate way to celebrate her special day.
Grace, a student at Saint Francis Xavier School, visited our office in person to present her gift, accompanied by her grandmother, Marla Emery and her sister Evelyn. It was such a joy to meet her and witness her kindness firsthand.
Thank you, Grace, for making a difference in the lives of families in our community. Your generosity is an inspiration to us all!

A few years ago some of our St. Francis Xavier graduates asked to create an "Alumni Mural Wall." They painted a mural on a wall in the middle school hallway and left a large area of open space for signatures of past and current graduates. When alumni visit SFX School, they are invited to sign the Alumni Wall. And a new tradition developed -- before a graduating class leaves the school to head to the graduation Mass and ceremony, they go to the wall and sign their names and year of graduation. This year Ethan signed his name near that of his great grandmother, Cecile Couillard. Ethan's mom shared this about Ethan's great grandmother: "She loved Ethan so much, and called him “the mouth” when he was little since he never stopped talking (not much has changed 😂). She was my favorite person ❤️ she passed in 2018 and her funeral was on Willie’s 3rd birthday at SFX church. She went to mass there as long as she could, and always took me to play bingo in the gym when I was young. Those were the days!" We love learning about the many family connections at SFX!
