Environmental Club members and other sustainably-minded volunteers hosted the first ever Dumpster Diversion event at Sheehan Hall during move out week. In all they were able to divert 31 boxes of things from the landfill.

Instead of being dumped in a landfill, on Saturday a semi-trailer full of box springs and mattresses headed out of Winona and toward a recycling center where they’ll be made

Kudos to Environmental Club members and other awesome WSU students who helped organize and staff Winona County's first ever Mattress and Recycling Drive. As a result of their efforts, we were able to divert or recycle 105 mattresses/ box springs! This was nearly an entire semi-trailer full.

The garden is really doing well. This week we were able to donate 42 pounds of produce to Winona Volunteer Services. Thanks to Lindow and Curtis for their awesome gardening skills!

The SEED garden has started producing! We harvested our first ice cream bucket of sugar snap peas this morning. If you are in Winona, come by the garden and help yourself to some that are still on the vine. The Warrior Cupboard, open to all WSU students who are food insecure, has the fruits of the garden as well. We recently installed 2 electric vehicle chargers (Level 2) on campus in front of Kryzsko Commons. They are free for all students to use. Community members may use for a small fee. Thanks to Chloe Bieda for writing the grant application to get this project started.
